Job Description

Project coordination – New building and Conversion projects

  • Familiarization of the company’s existing projects underway
  • Familiarization with the Technical specification of each project underway
  • Familiarization with the Project contractual details
  • Interpretation of Project schedules, review, tracking and updating project schedules.
  • Collation and transmission of all project reports
  • Preparation of hull progress reports
  • Review of project progress
  • Defect resolution tracking (including resolution of contentious issues in consultation with GM and/or Director-Technical)
  • Tracking of guarantee claims raised including updating of guarantee claim summary and statistics.
  • Attending meetings with yard and clients
  • Preparation of meeting agenda’s and meeting minutes in consultation with GM, Site managers, including follow up of meetings
  • Coordinate activities with all Owners regarding; Visits to Mumbai, Visits to various yards.
  • Coordinate, monitor and follow up change orders and extra costs with Owners, Shipyards, and clients.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure Zebec staffs are suitably represented at cardinal milestone events, ceremonies as the case may demand.
  • Design review of all projects electrical, automation, control system and integration drawings
  • Overview and monitoring of Design review comment consolidation
  • Assist in project documentation filing and updating.
  • Overview and monitoring of Site filing, Site based reports and archiving (electronic and hard copies)
  • Monitoring of Site logs
  • Assist in maintaining the company ISO system documentation related to project management which includes but is not restricted to;
  • Design modifications
  • Check lists
  • Procedural forms
  • Visit the new building sites to assist enhance site supervision quality and suggest changes and improvements
  • Attend commissioning and dock trails of vessels under construction at the shipyard
  • Attend the Sea Trials and delivery of vessels under construction at the shipyard
  • To implement improved site supervision techniques as the case may arise , however always in consultation and agreement with the GM and/or Director-Technical
  • To report on effectiveness of site techniques in use.
  • Under special request stand-in for a site personnel absentee.
  • Keep both GM-Mumbai and Director Technical updated and suitably informed at all times with regards project progress, probability of slippages, contentious issues or the likelihood of the same in advance.

 

Design, Conversion, projects

 

Zebec is involved with various Engg Design, ship conversion, dry dock assistance and ship life extension projects.
The Project Coordinator’s responsibilities shall primarily involve:

  • Assistance in developing technical proposals, technical work-scopes, allocation of man-days, allocation of responsibilities and project estimations.
  • Familiarization with the Technical specification of each project underway
  • Familiarization with the Project contractual details
  • Interpretation of Project schedules, review, tracking and updating project schedules.
  • Collation and transmission of all project reports
  • Attending meetings with yard and clients
  • Preparation of meeting agenda’s and meeting minutes in consultation with GM, Site managers, including follow up of meetings
  • In charge of all electrical design work /design calculations
  • To oversee electrical drafting work as may be required for a particular design project
  • When called upon, to review and validate drawings and/or calculations of electrical, automation and control system and integration in nature which may be prepared by an external agency.
  • Execution and coordination of projects at Site when called upon.

 

Training

  • To follow the company’s designated training programme
  • Responsible for Electrical training of Zebec technical staff which shall include but is not limited to;
  • Identification of suitable training programmes within the budgeted constraints
  • Budgeting for above training programmes
  • Follow up on training issues in respect to the above

      All above shall be done with the support of the HRD department.

 

General

  • Utilize in an optimal way all project resources in projects assigned to him/her
  • Sales and Marketing responsibility and interrelations
  • Duties as may be assigned by the General Manager
